Bruno Mars Reveals Dark Love Song, It Will Rain, For Breaking Dawn Soundtrack
Bruno Mars has lent his vocal talents to the soundtrack of the upcoming Twilight film, “Breaking Dawn: Part 1.” His track, “It Will Rain” will be the lead song off the soundtrack. The song was already in the works when Bruno was asked to write and record a song for the film.
Bruno says, “After seeing the movie, I thought that it would be a perfect fit.” Not fair! He already got to see the film! As if waiting for the movie was not enough, we will have to wait until September 27 to hear Bruno’s song. The rest of the soundtrack will be released on November 8th. Paramore, Muse and the Black Keys will also have songs on the soundtrack. The entire soundtrack list will be released on September 26th.
The rising star reveals he did not watch the entire film, but says he watched “most of the movie.” His movie-watching was completely job related. He had to watch so he “could catch the vibe and feel where they were going with it.” So, since he is an official Twilight viewer, there is only one question to ask, “Do I wear a Team Jacob shirt or a Team Edward shirt?” He is pretty elusive, but does admit, “You know what? I’m Team Bella all day.”
Bruno describes his inspiration for the song, “The ‘Twilight’ movies for me [are] a love story. But it’s a dark love story.” He wrote the song to reflect that. “I think the best way to describe the song is: It’s the darker side of love. I think that pretty much sums it up.” The singer insists he has no idea where his song will play in the film. He says, “As long as it’s not after the credits. I hope it’s in a good scene!”
The song is destined to become a smash hit, but Bruno Mars fans should not expect to hear it on his upcoming album. He explains, “I personally think if I did this for the ‘Twilight’ soundtrack, then this is for the ‘Twilight’ soundtrack. This is not for my album.”
